Highly unlikely. A fighter jet is a very complex piece of machinery, you will need several hours of familiarization just to learn to start it up. Taking it up will be much more difficult and I wouldnt mention the fine art of landing in one piece for the time being.

No way, it happens only in the movies.

Yeah and then you can run our country without being voted in as president

umm nope. you need to train to fly 1 of these. if everybody had no qualifications to fly jets, planes ect. There sure be lot of air accidents in the sky. Why the pilots have to go through rigourous training.

sure you can if you want just don’t expect it to be a perfect landing

Like they say, if you can buy it you can fly it. Assuming you can even get it started. Of course if it’s a single seat fighter you may end up with a cell mate named Bubba in a federal prison.

Yeah right, and I suppose you could drive as soon as you learned to walk but never needed lessons? The only thing flying in the air is your imagination.

You can get a familiarization ride here in several different fighter/trainer aircraft.

Well..I like the one answer I saw..haha..Trust me, you would never get it started. And then if for some reason you did. depending on the bird..you would not be able to taxi it to the runway. I fly an easy to understand corporate jet (Hawker 800) and a normal person with no training cannot comprehend even the smallest of procedures involved in starting…taxi….etc….Good luck if you find one with an open canopy!

      In a word………..NO

I’d say without traiining, No! but you can buy a ride in the back seat of one, there are several privately owned 1950-1960 vintage fighter trainers for hire, don’t forget the barf bag!

Silly question. You are welcome to find a sucker that will let you try. Personally I would love to one day, I have a Private Pilot Certificate and I am sure I would find a few familiar things but that is about it. Stick with the simulator for now, that’s what I do :)
